  • Finally we're getting di real history behind the BLACK PANTHERS! Congrats and big up to Daniel and company for this movie. This is the 2nd movie highlighting the FBI's involvement in the murder of prominent blacks and I would not be surprised if they were also involved in the assassinations of MLK Jnr, Malcolm X and JFK given that J Edgar Hoover was in charge of the FBI then. I can't wait to see it.

  • Thank you Trevor💪🏾 ! (And Daniel 💪🏾) I was born and raised and still live in The Divided States of America 😒 and I hear all the time from ignorant people around me that Africans/British/blacks from other countries shouldn’t be playing American roles. I totally disagree! I feel that you play these roles to wake us up and because you love and respect us and want us to be seen positively. As thespians, the British seem to take their roles seriously in wanting to portray us in a positive light ✨🤎✨. The struggle of black people is the same worldwide. There might be slight differences due to geographics and language (language is actually still the same though because we’re all speaking “The King/Queens’” language , English 😂) but racism still exists everywhere and honestly, we have to watch our backs everywhere in the world. I thank you Trevor for being bold enough to alert us of the real stories you come across. I thank you Daniel for portraying Americans with as much love and respect that you have in you. I’m thankful for both of you black Kings 👑. I don’t care that you’re mixed and are from Africa, that makes it better for us! Diversity ✊🏼🤎. I don’t care that you live in England where mfs claim to be Queen meanwhile her grandson ran away from that ratchet, racist, murderous house! Thank you both for representing us 🤎✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼🤎positively. Beautiful interview Kings 👏🏾👏🏾

  • When he said: "love your blackness", I couldn't help but think that it's - logically - just as "hating whiteness", for instance. And this is, in my opinion, the hidden countereffect of racism... Love and hatred of racial attributes are both sides of the same coin which we should throw in the deep sea!

  • Was the classically train comment a dig at Chadwick Boseman, who embodied the roles of black American icons/heroes spiritually, emotionally, culturally and soulfully? Because if it was, it showed exactly who kaluuya is. Yes Boseman was classically trained, but you can't make someone what they are not. The bottom line is that Boseman played roles of people who he identified with. Kaluuya didn't.

  • There has to be more education on black ppl especially in America. The Black Panther party was almost erased from history, the lies told to the ppl of America. They were definitely a force to be reckoned with why because they were really doing the work politics/government wouldn’t dare to do. I truly appreciate this film. This country needs to take accountability already for all they’ve done & still get away with. We need to educate ourselves if our education is already tampered with.

  • The movie was terrible. Kaluyya is waaaay too old; 10 years in fact older than Hampton when he died. William O’Neil was 17!!!! Read that .... 17 years old when he was coerced to join the BP Party and get close to Hampton. The movie would have been far more impactful had younger actors played the critical characters - it would’ve spoken to the real threat and power of the movement. The movement that scared the shit out of J. Edgar Hoover so much he sought to eradicate them....Young adults and teenagers; not grown men as represented by Kaluyya and Stansfield. Mark Clark was 22!! Akua Njeri was 19....there are so many holes in this movie it’s not even funny. Kaluyya looks NOTHING AT ALL LIKE FRED HAMPTON!!! There were times when you couldn’t even understand what he’s saying when trying to imitate Hampton’s tenor, tone and Chicago accent. We gotta do better - the movie was a huge failure!

    TA HARQATA HARQAAcum 13 Zile
    • Dare I say this, but I agree with both of you in certain aspects. Yes, there were times when I couldn't understand what Kaluyya was saying. Don't know if by holes you were speaking of scene, for ex., where the Panthers go to a kkk meeting and are allowed to Live & received empathy - seems unrealistic. But thought Stanfield was perfect, even resembled O'Neil somewhat. And even tho at one (Minor) point I thought Hampton was in shape and Kaluyya had a gut??? (smile) -but THE ACTING was superb and maybe why the film was so well received by Many !! Plus there are so many films where superb acting transcends looks, age, etc. (eg, Boseman looked nothing like Marshall)

      Joy LJoy LAcum 13 Zile
    • @TA HARQA I have more than enough capacity to understand what you said, it wasn’t a complex thought. Your first comment mainly spoke on the actors and how they took away from the true story because of their ages, looks, and accents- to which I disagreed. Fred making such an impact at 21 and William O’Neil being 17 is still intriguing even with older actors portraying them, their ages don’t take away from that fact. They could have chosen younger people to highlight their ages, but there aren’t many 17 and 21 year olds with the acting experience to portray figures of Fred and William’s caliber. Seems like you discredited the entire film based off what YOU consider a discrepancy. I did my research.. the film was far from a poor representation of reality!

      Aemoni HughesAemoni HughesAcum 13 Zile
    • @UCbT2eR9RQcmVK3GZrBKatSQ I didn’t say the acting was terrible. It wasn’t - the film adaptation was all wrong. The fact that his wife and son weren’t consulted makes it even worse. You can’t suspend disbelief when you understand who Fred was. A 17 year old informant in William O’Neil...does that alone not peak your interest and thoughts on the real story? You may not have the capacity to grasp what I’m saying...but go on; you’re entitled to your opinion.

      TA HARQATA HARQAAcum 13 Zile
    • There was nothing terrible about this film, especially not the acting or casting. They chose actors based on their ABILITY TO ACT not looks or age! It doesn’t take away from the fact that every single actor delivered how they were supposed to. The goal was to bring awareness to the role of Chairman Fred Hampton in the BPP and to portray the government’s intimidation, desperation, and fear. All of those were delivered on screen! Your preference for looks & age over talent & ability says a lot about you.. not the movie.

But I haven't. The war against black people has been raging in AMERIKKKA for over 500 years. Black people you better start getting on code and open your eyes to the naysayers and infiltrators.
